Clean, modern flat 10 mins from the heart of Notting Hill – sleeps 2/3.  Map

7 nights or more 5 or 6 nights
Price per night £115 £130

This 3rd floor apartment, the London pad of a young globe trotting classical conductor, is on the 3rd floor (with lift access) of a recently renovated house in a quiet leafy street, away from the bustle of the main roads.

The flat sleeps 2/3 people in one double bedroom and a comfortable sofabed, there's one bathroom. Wifi internet access is provided.

It is in a good location, 10 minutes walk from Notting Hill and the famous Portobello Road. Westbourne Park and Royal Oak tube stations (Circle and Hammersmith & City lines) are both about 5/7 mins walk away. The area has a plethora of good restaurants, pubs and cafés, not to mention excellent boutique shopping.

The open-plan living and kitchen area (22ft1 x 10ft5, 6.75m x 3.20m) feels spacious and light owing to the large French windows that open out onto a small sunny balcony. The room is clean and modern in style with a dark wooden floor and furniture and white walls. There is an ample-sized comfortable sofa (that converts to a bed suitable for one person) and a set of two low side tables used when taking meals in. For entertainment there is a large flat-screen TV with digital channels and an iPod dock, so you can play your own music.

The balcony overlooks the leafy neighbourhood outside and attracts the sunshine throughout the afternoon – a perfect spot for relaxing with a glass of wine.

The kitchen forms part of the open-plan space and is also ultra-modern in style with sleek dark wooden cabinets, granite work tops and chrome fittings and fixtures. It has everything that you will need for a self-catering stay: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, toaster and cafetiere. The washing machine (no dryer, a drying rack is used) is discreetly hidden away in a cupboard to the right of the bedroom.

The bedroom (15ft7 x 8ft, 4.8m x 2.43) is next to the living area and is modern and minimal in style, with mirrored fitted wardrobes (with plenty of space) and a large 6ft (1.80m) bed.

The generous-sized bathroom is again modern in style and tiled throughout, with a bath with over-shower, basin and loo.

This area of London has much to offer in terms of shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment.

Portobello Road is located at the end of Talbot Road and features the famous Portobello Road Market where you can pick up one-off handmade clothes and accessories, antiques and just about everything else that you might fancy buying. The area is abundant with decent cafés, bakeries, restaurants and bars and there's a good handful of bookshops (remember the film Notting Hill?) and vintage clothes stores too.

This is an area made for exploring and shopping and the best part is that you can do it all on foot as most places are within easy walking distance. Further afield the famous West End (Oxford Street) is a few stops on the underground as is the new Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherd's Busha modern mall famous for its sleek design and luxury goods.

This is a No Smoking property.
